Here's more New Year's predictions for ya; 2008 will be among the top 10 warmest years on record since 1850, according to forecasters at the Met Office and the University of East Anglia.Why? Does this mean that global warming has finally tapered off? Nope. According to the researchers, 2008 will be slightly cooler than recent years due to other factors, including El Nino and La Nina . The researchers warn that this should not be taken as a sign that global warming is on the wane.
The past ten years from 1998 to 2007 were the hottest decade on record according to the World Meteorological Organisation.
